How long does it take for the UN to consider your application? I asked on their site, but the statute has been on the site "applicant under consideration" in the last 8 months. I wonder how long it usually takes, they have an answer.

It depends on the situation and if funding is available for the position.
One thing you need to learn about the UN is their habit of posting vacancies, which were already filled internally. If the item is still "under review opportunity seekers" are high that this post is already occupied.
The whole process – contacting potential candidates, interviews and tests – taking only 2 months to 6 months.
