What Kind Of Pesticide Can You Use On Orchids?

A few of my orchids have this white, spider-web-looking stuff on it along with very tiny, white bugs (maybe aphids?). Does anyone know brands of are safe to use on orchids? Or is there a home remedy that is orchid-friendly? I want to treat them as soon as possible to keep them from spreading to my other orchids. Thanks! =)

White bugs maybe u have spider mites. That is what i guessed until i realized you said white but there ARE many kinds of spider mites. and they sometimes make webs. ^another cure can be a spray of oil. Oil works for many bugs, like if this is aphids (aphids ARE very light colored); oil works because it smothers them. You can use horticultural oil or just plain vegetable oil. A few tablespoons per quart for inside plants (you have to be careful not to fry plants under strong lights/sun so use 2 1/2 teaspoons out there and avoid baking afternoons).
aphids can be eaten by green lacewings if you want to follow up with some beneficials as a precautionary measure. ladybugs are prettier than lacewings but eat a little less.
some beneficals go for nectar after they run out of bugs so u might watch ur flowers Thrips sometimes make webs too; sometimes in combination with tunneling into leaves. these guys can hang right in the flower maybe. Oil might be good for them except they tend to like tunneling so much that i wonder if you could get them all.
it’s best to remove all tissue that was infected so you have no eggs and pregnant survivors.
scratch the soil up really well and then if you have it, maybe pour in a new layer. Doing that after spraying can take care of the ones that fell.
repeat the oil after three days. and then 7 days after that. and ten days after that.
These guys have very good info on pesticides, a few organic remedies and orchids in general. also they have little purple hearts which made me laugh:http://www.orchid.org.uk/orchidproblems.?

  2. fyi… infertility may not be always a women’s problem, a large number of men are also diagnosed with very low sperm counts (like in my case – it was my husband) that categorise them as infertile but luckily we were able to take care of it and have have little ones…
