I’m using phalaenopsis orchids for my bouquets (fucshia for bridesmaids, white for me) and I found them much cheaper wholesale than what my florist quoted me…are they easy to work with? how possible/easy/difficult is it to create my own for our wedding? I’m generally a pretty creative person, I just feel orchids may be more difficult, due to the way they grow…suggestions?
How Possible/ Difficult Is It To Make Wedding Bouquets With Orchids?

ooh itl be easy hunni! all you need is a bit of florists binding wire, get creative and bind them together and then cover the wire with either fuscia ribbon (to match) or a plain cream ribbon, whatever looks best
make sure you add some foliage or maybe even another flower? orchids are so fragile and having the foliage should protect them slightly, how about orinental lillies? these are also beautiful and fragile looking and if you had them in white and the orchids in fuscia this would look amazing! such a contrast would really make the fuscia pop!
if you are unsure about flower arranging have a look on youtube there should be a self help video about how to create a bouquet.
Are you planning on using any other type of flower or just orchids? Quite honestly, the bouquets aren’t that hard to do. Go to the library and find a book on how to do it. Just be sure you have the supplies you need for tying the bouquets and you’ll need to have vases or jars to sit them in, perhaps even with water for them, and a way to keep them cool. Before using, remove from the water, drain them and dry the stems, perhaps applying final ribbon or whatever.
they wont be difficult. All you need to really know is how to wire the flowers. For this you need a basic book on floral arranging. A really good one I have is ‘bouquets: a year of flowers for the bride’
its a gorgeous book with instructions on how to make a bouquet using almost any type of flower. It will show you how to do it properly. If you cant find the book google instructions on the web. It can be done and its going to look gorgeous. I LOVE orchids! im also using them for my wedding (cymbidium orchids tho)
congrats and good luck!
