I don’t know how to get the ipod to play through the stereo once it is plugged into the console. I’ve looked through my manual, but can’t seem to find the answer.

Not sure about the plugging into console part. Are you using a cassette insert? If you are, then there is a certain station to have it set at…like 83.1 or something like that.
However, if you don’t already know, you can buy a wireless connection fairly cheaply. I have one, you attach it to the top of your ipod, then search the radio stations for one that is not playing any music/talking etc. “dead air” essentially, or static, anyhow, then you tune the wireless piece you’ve connected to your ipod to the same station, and voila, you can hear your ipod through your speakers. Hope this helps out.
